The results of the SBDC’s Business Expectations survey for 2015 have been released. This annual snapshot of small business sentiment helps to track the changes in expectations of the sector, and the challenges they expect to encounter.
This year the poll reveals that although respondents are concerned about the economy, they seem generally confident of increasing sales within their businesses.

On 1 January 2015, the Franchising Code of Conduct was replaced with a new Code covering all franchise systems operating in Australia.
Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) Chief Executive Officer and Western Australian Small Business Commissioner David Eaton, says the federal government has been working with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the franchise industry since 2013, to produce a mandatory national Code of Conduct that brings best practice to franchises throughout Australia.
“The SBDC also contributed to the development of the new Code, which has been publicly welcomed by the Franchise Council of Australia,” Mr Eaton said. “I hope the entire industry will now also embrace the new rules.” Read more...
