The Small Business Friendly Approvals Program aims to streamline the process of obtaining business licences and trading permits from local government authorities.

It is part of a package of initiatives created by the WA Government to accelerate regulatory reform in order to support economic recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, following a pilot with the Cities of Canning and Stirling in late 2019.

The SBDC will work with 20 local government authorities in 2021 and 2022 to identify approvals reform initiatives to streamline the approvals process and help small businesses start, operate and grow in their local areas.
