Pro bono legal services for small businesses

Small Business Commissioner David Eaton, Minister for Small Business Paul Papalia CSC and the Attorney General John Quigley at the Curtin Law Clinic.Access to justice is a serious issue but many small businesses are not pursuing legal matters because they believe it will be too expensive and time-consuming.

The Curtin Law School in the Perth CBD offers pro bono legal services for small businesses, many of whom are referred by us.

This week, the Small Business Commissioner, David Eaton, joined the Minister for Small Business Paul Papalia CSC and the Attorney General, John Quigley at the John Curtin Law Clinic to congratulate the Curtin and the SBDC on this collaboration.

Final year students, supervised by qualified practicing lawyers, gain practical legal skills and specialist knowledge, while small business clients get access to legal advice and remedies they could not otherwise afford.
