ACCC kicking goals for small business

The Deputy Chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Dr Michael Schaper visited the SBDC on Tuesday to update the Commissioner and our advisory team on ACCC services to the small business sector.

The ACCC’s latest Small Business in Focus report, out today, indicates a 65 per cent increase in the number of franchising complaints received from July to December 2015, compared to the previous six months. The Commission has also handled more than 260,000 client contacts.

It also revealed more than $2.2 million in losses from scam activities, has been reported to the ACCC by small businesses nationwide.
