ACCC online training opportunities

Running a small business can be very demanding and setting time aside to keep abreast of new laws and small business initiatives is often difficult. Online education, where you can access information at a time and place convenient to you, may be the answer.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is offering a free online education program designed to help small businesses learn more about their rights and obligations under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

The program consists of ten short modules covering topics such as pricing, advertising, consumer rights, selling safe products, unlawful competition and scams.

You can work through the modules at your leisure or select the ones that are most relevant to your business. One of the modules covers ‘social media’ including how to use it to your advantage while avoiding the pitfalls.

The online portal also includes a five module ‘Franchisees’ program for anyone considering a franchise business opportunity.
