Do you have the licences you need?
Operating a business in Australia involves complying with a range of government regulations and laws that affect your business. These can include licences, permits and regulations, codes of practice and policies.
As a minimum, most businesses need an Australian Business Number (ABN), and a business name, while others may need a permit to play music in their business, or have al fresco seating for customers. There may also be other licences that are unique to an activity or location such as disposal of trade waste, storing and preparing food, or running a business from home.
