SBDC e-news – July 2016 $100 000 prize money

Hello start-ups! $100,000 prize money on the table

GovNext-ICT is transitioning the WA Government from being an owner and operator of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure, towards being a consumer of commercial computer, storage and network services.

The GovNext-ICT program will provide the foundation for the WA Government to be more flexible and innovative in the delivery of services, and align with the whole of government ICT strategy.

Applications are now open for the Start IT Up WA Challenge aimed at nurturing innovative, technology-based solutions to government problems and building capacity within the Western Australian start-up community. By providing added momentum and support to projects at or approaching beta stage, the aim is to increase the number of innovative solutions which make it to market.

Prizes will be awarded for the best solution(s) to a problem currently facing the participants’ nominated Government agency or agencies, to a combined value of $100,000. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to beta test their project in collaboration with a Government agency. Applications close 24 August 2016.
