Preparation of the final documentation

Once negotiations are completed the final form of the lease will be prepared for signing by the parties to the lease.

You should obtain, read and understand all documents relating to the lease (including any assignment documents).

Before you sign the lease document you should instruct your solicitor to check that it contains everything that was agreed (or negotiated) along with all the terms and conditions that you'd like included. Your solicitor should also check that there are no newly added terms or conditions, and that the terms and conditions in the lease could not adversely affect your business.

Always retain a copy of any document bearing your signature.
