The Government of Western Australia welcomes skilled and business migrants and recognises and values the positive economic and social contribution that they have made, and continue to make, to this State.
Western Australia has one of the strongest economies in Australia. However, to enhance our business environment, we need to attract skilled workers and successful business operators from overseas.
The Government of Western Australia established a State Migration Centre to develop and coordinate its migration programs and initiatives, which include:
The State Migration Centre manages an international marketing program to attract new skilled and business migrants to Western Australia. This includes participation at overseas commercial and government migration expos, open days, seminars and appointments.
The State Migration Centre is responsible for developing and maintaining a list of skilled occupations which are in demand in Western Australia. This list is critical to ensure that the State sponsors workers with the skills that are most in demand throughout the State.
To coordinate its activities and programs, the State Migration Centre uses a network of local and overseas migration agents, Western Australia’s international Trade and Investment Offices and works closely with the State's nine Regional Development Commissions.
