If you subscribe to any services on the site then your email address, and other personal information you may provide, will be maintained on our mailing list. It will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and will not be added to any other mailing list - unless you have given specific permission as part of the requested service. Protecting your privacy and your personal information is an important aspect of the way the SBDC organises and implements our activities, online and offline. Our Privacy Policy supports and endorses the state and national privacy regimes.

The SBDC websites are not set up to automatically collect personally identifiable information from each visitor to our website. We will only collect personal information from you with your prior knowledge and consent. You can access any SBDC website without disclosing personal information and your personal information is an important aspect of the way the SBDC organises and implements our activities, online and offline. The Small Business Development Corporation uses industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to ensure the highest security for credit card and personal details submitted to the Corporation over the Internet. Our security certificate is issued by Equifax Secure Global eBusiness CA-1 and uses SSL 3.0, RC4 with 128 bit encryption (High); RSA with 1024 bit exchange encryption. Depending on the browser version that you are using, your personal information will be encrypted by your computer at 40, 56 or 128 bit key encryption before it is sent to the Corporation.

Use of Information

We make a record of your visit and log the following information for statistical purposes:

  • the user's IP address,
  • the user's top level domain name (eg .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc),
  • the date and time of the visit to the site,
  • the pages accessed and documents downloaded,
  • the previous site visited and the type of browser used.

No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the service provider's logs.
